Our story

Founded and substantially owned by Mactaggart Family & Partners, led by Executive Chairman, Sir John Mactaggart, our brand was announced in 2006 with the opening of its first 65-room hotel, originally named Base2Stay, in a beautifully converted Edwardian townhouse in Kensington, London.

The concept was based on providing a comfortable, practical and convenient place to stay, with an emphasis on great service and innovative amenities, including bespoke in-room mini kitchens and complimentary Wi-Fi, which at the time was not a common feature of many hotels.

The brand also led the way in promoting more authentic and sustainable travel experiences, by partnering with nearby restaurants, bars and places of interest in order to provide guests with a range of offers and discounts to help them discover and enjoy the local area. It received an amazing response and the hotel quickly established a reputation as the place to stay for discerning travellers visiting the capital looking for fantastic service, comfort and value in an excellent location.

Following the success of its original property, the brand opened its second hotel in 2010 in the centre of Liverpool, within a lovingly restored former cork warehouse dating back to the late 1800s. Adhering to the same winning formula, the 106-room hotel focussed on providing excellent service, comfort and in-room amenities in a convenient location, a short walk from the city’s main attractions.

2013 was an important year for our brand, with the opening of its second 78-room hotel in the capital and a renaming to become Nadler Hotels. The Nadler Soho opened within an architecturally award-winning Georgian style building, in the heart of London’s most vibrant district, Soho. Guests were quick to want to experience the brand’s reputation for exceptional service and beautifully presented rooms, and take advantage of the hotel’s superb location.

Two years later in 2015, our brand expanded into a third micro-destination within the capital, with the opening of The Nadler Victoria. Offering 73 rooms in a privileged location next-door to Buckingham Palace, it followed the same proven footprint for success in providing unrivalled service, comfort and convenience, and like the other hotels in the collection, quickly climbed to the top of review platforms.

In early 2019 The Nadler Covent Garden opened its doors as the brand's fifth hotel (and its fourth in London), in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. The new 57-room hotel is set within a beautiful Edwardian building overlooking the iconic Strand and sets the standard for the future of the brand. The rooms are furnished with elegant bespoke furniture, hand-made locally in west London, and luxurious fabrics woven on the isle of Bute, Scotland. Stylish touches, including special edition Paul Smith Anglepoise lamps in every room, echo the focus on quality British design and craftsmanship of the interiors.

With consistently outstanding reviews and top-ranking positions on TripAdvisor, our brand continues to go from strength to strength by providing with what is most important to the modern traveller: great locations, exceptional service, comfortable rooms and market-beating value.
