The Museum’s exhibitions and galleries tell the story of London and its transport system over the last 200 years. Its stunning collection looks at the powerful link between transport and the growth of modern London, and how travel might change in the future. Transport has helped shape London’s unique identity. From 19th century horse-drawn buses through to the world’s first underground railway, early red double-decker buses and the creation of famous designs such as the Tube roundel logo and Underground map, the Museum is a window into the role that transport has played in London’s culture and social history.
Design fans will love the Museum’s vintage advertising posters which form part of the most important collection of graphic art in the world.
A new Hidden London exhibition exploring the history of the capital’s disused stations will open on 11 October 2019 until January 2021. In addition, visitors can discover a secret underworld with the Museums exclusive Hidden London tours at forbidden sites and disused stations beneath the bustling streets of London. www.ltmuseum.co.uk/hidden-london
