Frenchie Covent Garden is the newest London outpost of the revered Michelin Star Frenchie restaurant, Frenchie To Go, Frenchie Wine Bar and Frenchie Wine Shop on Rue du Nil in Paris by Michelin Star Chef Gregory Marchand.
Gregory Marchand, known to many as ‘Frenchie’ thanks to the nickname bestowed by Jamie Oliver, began his culinary journey in western France at the age of 15. He learned to cook in Nantes, France, where he grew up and embarked on a culinary journey that took him into some of the world’s finest kitchens in London, Hong Kong, Spain, and New York.
Using the world as his larder, Gregory’s instinctive approach to cooking delivers simple yet sophisticated dishes rooted in French cuisine and transformed through inspiration from his international repertoire. Working with all ingredients, from the simplest to the noblest, Gregory and the Frenchie team strive for authentic, original culinary creations graced with impeccable seasoning and his now-famous touch of acidity. Gregory’s cuisine is described in turns as generous, inspired or daring, but it is always a source of surprise and delight.
Frenchie Covent Garden opened in February 2016 and has won Squaremeal’s Restaurant of the Year award. The globally-influenced menu echoes its Parisian counterpart with simple yet generous flavours and dishes inspired by Greg’s travels, from London to New York through to Spain and Hong Kong. Frenchie Covent Garden is open 7days a week and offers daily Set Lunch Menu, Pre & Post Theatre Menus, Dinner A la Carte & the full experience with a seasonal 5-course Tasting Menu.
