The National Portrait Gallery is home to the world’s largest collection of faces and fascinating personalities, from the late Middle Ages to the present day. The displays feature works across all media, from painting and sculpture to photography and video, by artists ranging from Holbein to Hockney, with representations of famous the faces that have shaped British history, from kings and queens to musicians and film stars.
In addition to its permanent displays, visitors are treated to a diverse programme of exhibitions and free events, and a rooftop restaurant with stunning views across the capital.
